Andreas Hutter

Andreas Hutter even speaks Mongolian. This just goes to show how in depth this Lucerne local goes to get close to the subjects and people he captures on film. Hutter takes time on his photographic projects, concentrating fully on the culture and the people of the foreign lands he travels to. Most of his travels are extensive, often by way of horseriding for example through the Himalayas, the Andes or Iceland.

He has travelled 1800 kilometers through the canadian wilderness by way of dogsleds and now for many years has focused on Mongolia – explaining his unusual gift of language.

Thanks to the long and intense amount of time spent in these regions, Hutter succeeds in capturing the people, moods and landscapes in an almost poetic story. Because Hutter spends alot of time with the people he meets, they very often often up to him, give him closer access and grant him with exceptional portraits.
