Fabiano Ventura

Fabiano Venturas love of nature can be seen through his images. The Italian has accompanied numerous spectacular expeditions, one of them being in 2005 with Hans Kammerlander and Karl Unterkircher as they tried a first ascent of Mount Jasemba in Nepal. He has travelled with his camera to Pakistan, Patagonia, Namibia and Iceland and many more destinations all over the world.

His large format photos have been exposed in Rome, Paris and Milan, his images printed on book covers and also published in various photo books. His travels, mostly taking place in the higher altitudes, have lead him to a project about documenting glaciers. Since 2007, he has been documenting the effects of global warming on glacial activity. He herefore choses perspectives of images up to a century old in order to illustrate the receeding of the glaciers. One message sticks out on all of Venturas images – our world is a beautiful place and we are doing our best to destroy it.
