Thomas Ulrich

Born in Interlaken, Thomas Ulrich has gone down paths rarely travelled before. Not only has he climbed some of the worlds most challenging peaks, crossed the Patagonian inland ice, he also followed Fridtjof Nansens footsteps starting from the North Pole via the russian archipelago Franz Joseph ending in Norway, all by means of walking, swimming and sailing. For this great expedition, Ulrich, together with Boerge Ousland, was awarded „Adventurer of the Year“ by the american magazine „Adventure“.

One thing never missing in Ulrichs’ baggage are his various film and photo cameras. He has the knack like noone else to combine the eye of a professional with the talents of an experienced extreme mountain climber and therefore always manages to catch the most precious motives, moments and moods through his lens. He is by far one of the worlds’ best outdoor photographers and cameramen of his time. He has worked as a cinematographer for the movie Nordwand, has documented a swiss TV ascent of Mount Everest and publishes regularly in the american issue of the National Geographic – which counts as an Oscar in the world of photography.

Ulrich is co-owner of VISUAL IMPACT.
